My Skills

I pride myself on my technical aptitude and ability to rapidly apply my skills in new situations.

I am passionate about learning and continually improving my skill set, look at my project pages to see how I refine and apply my skills.

CAD Modeling

I am experienced in SolidWorks design, simulations, and drawings. I have designed parts and assemblies ranging from a mechanical clock to a full formula electric racecar. I utilize best practices for keeping clean and functional large assemblies and pride myself on making parametric models that are easy to edit and understand for others.

Simulation

I have used thermal and structural analysis tools to aid in the design optimization of numerous projects. Most notable was the optimization of an electric racecar, where weight and strength were a constant tradeoff. There were also many thermal analyses ran to ensure proper cooling of brakes, batteries, and powertrain components.

CNC Machining

I have written and ran thousands of CNC programs using fusion CAM on HAAS mills and lathes. I am experienced in advanced in-machine probing and automations, as well as hand writing custom probing macros and sub programs. I also have experience using a wire EDM to make splines and keyways.

Manual Machining

I am experienced in operating manual mills and lathes, with hands-on experience machining parts from materials such as ceramic, aluminum, and steel.

TIG and MIG Welding

With hundreds of hours spent welding on dozens of projects, I have a deep understanding of welding parameters and weld design considerations.

Electronic Assembly

Many of my projects have required electrical assembly. From soldering to basic circuit planning, assembly, and testing.

Leadership

I've had the opportunity to lead several projects, where I focused on fostering teamwork and encouraging continuous improvement. During my three years with the Formula SAE team at WPI, I served as the club president and the senior capstone team mechanical project manager. I learned how to support and grow a team of student engineers, gaining valuable experience in both leadership and collaboration.
