Team Projects
At WPI, I was heavily involved with the Formula SAE team, where I contributed across multiple sub teams and learned how to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team environment. I served as the club president and ultimately, the senior capstone project team lead, gaining valuable leadership and technical experience.
Senior Capstone Formula E
March 2023
As team lead, I managed the overall project timeline, led weekly technical meetings, and maintained team morale. I directed the mechanical design of our electric race car in SolidWorks, focusing on optimization and system integration, while collaborating closely with the electrical and software teams. I verified structural safety and rules compliance using FEA and used thermal simulations to optimize the braking and cooling systems. As head fabricator, I programmed and machined precision parts in-house using CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDM. My hands-on role in every design challenge allowed me to provide DFM feedback and solve problems effectively.

Development of Practical Engineering Curriculum
August 2022
For my IQP at WPI, two fellow FSAE club executives and I set out to strengthen the team's practical engineering skills through a fun, hands-on learning experience. We used remote-controlled cars as a test platform and developed a series of instructional videos covering SolidWorks CAD, CAM, and machining tutorials. In parallel, we ran classroom sessions that guided students through the entire engineering design process, from research and ideation to design, fabrication, and testing. This project gave me valuable experience in teaching and mentoring, as well as a deeper understanding of how to communicate technical concepts.

Competed in Formula Hybrid
May 2022
In 2022, the WPI Formula SAE team competed with its first electric race car, focusing on the development of a new powertrain, custom battery pack, and integrated software systems. I spent significant time shadowing team leads and head machinists to learn about leadership, team logistics, and machining techniques. As a fabricator, I performed TIG welding on frame tabs and suspension components. I also assisted with the internal design and layout of the battery pack, working with electrical and mechanical teams to address performance and safety requirements.

Rebuild of 2019 Formula Car
October 2021
As president, my first major project was leading the rebuild of our 2019 competition car, which had been disassembled with several critical parts missing. I personally remanufactured components using CNC milling, a manual lathe, and TIG welding. To guide the process, I reviewed and cleaned up outdated CAD models to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. I developed a detailed task list, organized the team, and delegated responsibilities across fabrication, assembly, and inspection. Throughout the rebuild, I provided hands-on training to new members, helping them develop skills in machining, welding, and assembly. This collaborative effort successfully restored the car and integrated new talent into the team.
